Adrian Peterson is a pretty big star in Minnesota. But apparently, the Vikings superstar's celebrity status can only take him so far.
Indeed, it has been reported this afternoon that an assistant manager at a Minnesota McDonald's was fired for letting Peterson use the bathroom after the restaurant had locked its doors for the night.
The woman who recognized Peterson and let him in had been a McDonald's employee for seven years, and it just never occurred to her that letting Peterson in to use the bathroom would mean her job.
"He's a public figure... I know him better than some of the maintenance people that come in and out," she said. "I never thought in a million years that that decision was going to cost me my career."
Soon after she was let go, the woman reached out to Peterson on his Facebook page, but her pleas for him to say something on her behalf went unanswered.
However, once the local press got a hold of the story, she was offered her job back. We are pleased to report that she happily accepted.
Now, we have to ask: if somebody like Adrian Peterson came knocking on the door at your place of business after closing hours, would you let him in to use the bathroom?
Shoot, I would. And damn the consequences!
